RÓHE

Quiet Confidence, Made in Europe: Conscious Select × Róhe

Róhe is an Amsterdam label founded by Marieke Meulendijks and her husband Maickel Weyers. Marieke studied fashion and textiles at Amsterdam's Fashion Academy and has worked in the industry since she was 21, travelling to learn textile craft and building supplier relationships along the way. When the pandemic brought everything to a stop, those relationships became the foundation of her own brand.

The studio sits in Huis de Vicq, a 17th-century canal palace in Amsterdam. Dutch history, architecture and light run through the work. The aim is simple: a personal wardrobe that outlasts the season it was bought in.

The Outerwear

Coats and jackets are where Róhe is strongest. Wool coats, leather blazers, suede and shearling, cut with restraint and finished with care. The Pankou collection brings a traditional knotted fastening into modern tailoring. Nothing is loud. Every detail, from the fabric to the stitching to the finish, is there on purpose.

The Making

More than 90% of each collection is made in Europe, across Portugal, Italy and Lithuania, with smaller runs in Turkey, Bulgaria and China. Fabrics come largely from Italy, and existing and leftover fabrics are used wherever possible. Production is limited, and many partners are small family businesses.

Róhe names its suppliers publicly. Most of its shirting is made by Mundicorte, a family-run workshop in Portugal founded in 1978, where brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews work side by side and many staff have spent their entire careers.
