NOUR HAMMOUR

Modern Outerwear, Made With Accountability: Conscious Select × NOUR HAMMOUR

Nour Hammour began in 2013 as a small project between cofounders Erin Conry Webb and Nour Hammour, customising leather pieces for friends out of a family-owned atelier in the Marais district of Paris. That atelier, run by a married couple who had been making leather jackets for fifty years, remains central to production more than a decade later. This is how Nour Hammour has always worked: close, slow, accountable — a direct rejection of the wholesale excess that swept most contemporary fashion labels along with it.

The brand consciously stepped back from large department store partnerships to return to a direct relationship with the women who wear the clothes. That decision — not a marketing position but an operational one — is what makes Nour Hammour worth understanding.

The Outerwear

Clean lines, sculpted shoulders, rich textures, and a palette anchored in neutrals define the Nour Hammour signature. Leather jackets and shearling coats designed with structure, softness, and proportion in mind — pieces that carry presence without excess. The aesthetic is confident and restrained in equal measure.

These are not seasonal statements. Leather is one of the only materials that genuinely improves with time, and Nour Hammour designs with that arc in mind. A jacket bought today is intended to be worn for a decade and look better for it.

The Making

Every jacket is cut only once an order is received. Each piece takes one to three days to make by hand. There is no inventory sitting in a warehouse, no overproduction absorbed into sale cycles. Micro-stocks of leather and accessories are kept on hand only to avoid over-ordering. The Recut programme collects all leather scraps at the end of every working day and repurposes them into a secondary collection of leather goods — nothing discarded, nothing wasted.

All leather suppliers hold Leather Working Group certification, independently auditing environmental responsibility across tanning, waste management, chemical use, and water consumption. All leather and shearling is sourced as an agricultural by-product, ensuring no animals are raised solely for fashion purposes. A female-led workshop in Istanbul replicates the made-to-order model, established specifically to build a vertically integrated atelier specialising in shearling.
