JUJU VERA
Adorned Presence: Conscious Select × JUJU VERA
Julia Ferentinos spent years before founding JUJU VERA doing something that shaped everything that came after — sourcing vintage jewellery from flea markets in Paris, Mexico City, and across the world, curating pieces for editorials, films, and private clients. She developed an eye not just for beauty but for weight, presence, and the particular quality of objects that survive decades of being worn and passed between people.
That sensibility is the foundation of JUJU VERA. Launched in 2024 from her New York City workshop, the brand is named for Julia herself — Juju, the nickname given to her by a brother who couldn't say Julia — and for her grandmother Vera, whose legacy runs through every piece. This is jewellery with personal weight before it even leaves the workshop.
The Sculpture
JUJU VERA works primarily in sterling silver, chosen not as a trend but as a material with genuine longevity — solid enough to be polished, repaired, and worn for decades without deteriorating. Each piece is hand-cast from Julia's own sketches, converted to wax moulds, and finished by hand in New York City. The process takes two weeks per piece. Nothing is mass-produced.
The design language draws from ancient Greek motifs, Art Deco architecture, and the particular glamour of 1960s and 70s cinema — a Mia Farrow photograph at Cannes, the scale of a shell found in a Parisian flea market, the curvature of an architectural detail noticed somewhere and filed away. Collar necklaces rest with weight across the collarbone. Pendants fall deliberately, becoming part of the silhouette rather than an addition to it. A single piece is often enough.
This is jewellery conceived as small sculpture — made to be worn repeatedly, to age with the person wearing it, and eventually to become part of someone else's story.
Why JUJU VERA is a Consciously Selected Jewellery Brand: CS Signal
CS Verified | Selected for its commitment to handmade, made-to-order production in New York City. Two weeks per piece, solid sterling silver, designed for repair and longevity rather than replacement. In a jewellery market saturated with plated, disposable pieces, that is a meaningful and quietly radical position.
